Bourne Mansion Long Island

Built at the turn of the twentieth century, Bourne Mansion in Oakdale is one of Long Island's grandest wedding venues: a Gilded Age estate with white columns, fountains, sweeping lawns and a ballroom crowned by a glass dome. On a bright June day, it set the stage for a wedding full of laughter from the first look to the last dance.

A first look and portraits on the grounds

The couple shared a first look by a stone balustrade under the trees, then spent a relaxed hour on the lawns with their wedding party before heading into the mansion's wood-paneled library for family portraits.

A ceremony on the great lawn

With a string trio playing, guests gathered on the lawn facing a flower-covered arch, with open sky and green fields stretching out behind the couple.

Sunset and a night in the ballroom

During cocktail hour we slipped away for sunset portraits in front of the glowing columns. Then came a grand entrance to a cheering room, a first dance beneath the dome and a dance floor that stayed full all night.
